A warm welcome to the Ashdown Forest Riding Association (AFRA).

THE ASHDOWN FOREST

The Ashdown Forest has over 81 miles of safe riding and with over 6,500 acres, (10 square miles) for you to roam at your leisure. Riding is by permit only which you can obtain from the Ashdown Forest Centre and AFRA members receive a discount on the cost of an annual permit.

AFRA Objectives

1. To assist in conserving the Forest in its natural state for the benefit of walkers and riders alike.

2. To work in liaison with the Conservators to improve riding conditions.

3. To ensure that Ashdown Forest is kept available for use by horse riders with the minimum of restrictions.

AFRA Events

AFRA run several events through out the year including quiz nights and the September pleasure ride over 12 miles of the forest is always a firm favourite.

AFRA Pleasure Ride

The annual pleasure ride takes place in September. Come along next year and if you haven't been before, you won't be disappointed.

Ashdown Forest Riding Association - Membership 2017/2018
Time to renew your membership for AFRA - save £21 off your riding permit on the forest by becoming a member!
Other advantages include discounts on many local saddlerys and shops, parking in additional car parks on the forest, and notifications of activities on the forest.
The money raised from membership helps to maintain the forest with regard to repairs, members also bring to light any problem riding areas on the forest.
Renew now for £15, you can pay by bacs or download the form and send to the membership secretary.
